YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS :
Join this casual, fun, creative group of teen playwrights as you write what you want to write about. Learn the basics of playwriting: idea creation, proper playwriting format, dramatic structure, and constructive criticism from the national award winning playwright in residence of the Rose. Students work towards writing, revising, and submitting a short scene for the The Young Playwrights Festival at The Rose.
Starts September 14th
Saturdays, 10:15-11:45 A.M.

Want to have a professional teaching artist come into your classroom with an interactive and inspiring workshop on playwriting? Students will learn about dramatic structure, creating settings, and developing characters. Sixth to eighth grade students will focus on writing ten minute plays about bullying for our regional "Young Playwrights for Change Competition".

Theatre for Young Audiences/USA (TYA/USA), is a national service organization whose mission is to promote the power of professional theatre for young audiences through excellence, collaboration and innovation across cultural and international boundaries. Founded in 1965 as ASSITEJ/USA, TYA/USA is the only theatre organization in the United States which has the development of professional theatre for young audiences and international exchange as its primary mandates.
